Travel Teams
Travel Teams are teams with more focused and regular practices who enjoy an enhanced team atmosphere and who test their skill development through game play against other youth hockey organizations. CUYHA is a member of the Central Illinois Hockey League (CIHL) with league play among other Central Illinois based teams, which are typically: Bloomington, Champaign, Decatur, Springfield, Pekin, Peoria, Quad Cities. New for the 09-10 season, CUYHA’s High School Team will join Lincoln Land Hockey Association (LLHL).
Approximately 50% of all travel games are League play, and 50% are scheduled by individual team schedulers to give skaters exposure to teams from other regions and tournament play.
- Season: September 2009 – March 2010
- Practices: Varies but generally on Tuesday and Thursday nights
- Games: Home games on Sundays/Away games generally on weekends
- Fees: High School: $1,175 (less discounts for selected payment options); Travel Skaters all other levels: $1,075 (less discounts for selected payment options); Jerseys – home and away jerseys are additional.
- Registration: Begins August 24, 2009; Urbana Civic Center; secondary registration to occur at Mini-Camps and Team Evaluations the weeks to follow (Click here to see schedule)
- Other: All players must first register online with USA Hockey.
