CUYHA is excited to offer a Spring League that will run for 5 weeks (6 practices, 5 games), March 13^th - April 29^th (excluding spring break week 3/17 - 3/25).  New for this season, we will offer two divisions - Squirt and Pee Wee.  We will hold an evaluation clinic the week of March 12th.  Following the evaluation night, the coaches will form teams.  Teams of 8 to 12 skaters, 1 goalie, and a coach will be formed as evenly as possible.  After Spring Break, each team will practice once per week on a week night (probably Wednesdays at 6:00 pm) and play a full ice game each weekend.  The game time slots may be on Saturday or Sunday and will be rotated as evenly as possible.  All practices and games will be at the U of I Ice Arena.  Players from surrounding areas are welcome to participate.

This year's Senior Night for the Chiefs High School team is Tuesday, February 14.  Please come out and show your support for our High School team and to honor our senior team members.  In lieu of regular team practice, CUYHA would like to encourage all of its players to get together with your teams, wear your jerseys, and support our High School players as they pay tribute to their 5 Seniors and their families.  The game will take place at 7:30pm..Chiefs vs. Bloomington...at the U of  I Ice Arena.  Admission for Chiefs Players is FREE.  There is a $2 admission charge for adults, and $1 for children.  There will be cake and refreshments following the game.

The 46th Annual Chiefs Classic Tournament is this weekend!  Please check the Tournament webpage for game schedules and to sign-up as a volunteer.

Are you interested in trying out the new Meatheads Burgers & Fries restaurant and helping out CUYHA at the same time?  Tomorrow night (Thursday, Dec 29), Meatheads will host CUYHA for its pre-grand opening of the Champaign location at 1305 South Neil Street.  From 5-8pm, Meatheads will serve food to those CUYHA families and friends who made a reservation via the Meatheads website.  The food and drinks are free, but we ask that you make a donation.  100% of the money you give will go to CUYHA.  Everybody wins - you get great food and CUYHA gets much needed support for its youth hockey programs.  See the attached flyer for more information.

Attention CUYHA skaters - free stick & puck at the U of I ice arena this weekend for our members.  The sessions are tonight (12/9) 6:15 - 7:15 pm and Sunday (12/11) 4:30 - 6:00 pm.  Parents are welcome on the ice, but all must wear a helmet.

We have reached our maximum registration capacity of 50 skaters.  If you would like to be placed on a waiting list for the Winter 2012 session, please email ChiefsPR@gmail.com
