Learn-To-Play "SPRING" Registration is open!

The Learn-to-play hockey program is a low-cost ($145) program for boys and girls age 5-8 years old who are new to hockey and want to "suit up" in full gear and try this great game! It is specifically designed to teach new hockey players how to skate.
Ages
Appropriate players are at least 5-8 years old and are new to hockey.
When
Spring learn to skate dates and times:
Saturdays: 8am-9am: 4/8, 4/15, 4/22
Sundays from 9:30am-1030am on 4/2, 4/16, 4/23, 4/30
Where
Practice will be at The U of I Ice arena.

Practices
Learn-to-play practices are scheduled on Saturday and Sundays for the spring.
Costs
Fees for Learn-To-Skate are $145 per session. This includes 7 on-ice practices and all equipment needed.
Equipment
Jerseys and all equipment is provided by CUYHA.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child need to have skating experience?
No. The Learn-To-Skate Program us designed to take a skater from zero experience to entry level hockey skills.
What is the difference between House and Learn-To-Skate?
House is for 6-12 year old children who have the ability to control movement and can move autonomously on the ice. House has 3 opportunities to skate a week. Two Skills practices and one scrimmage practice a week. Learn-To-Skate is to try hockey and learn basic skills.
Can my child us their own equipment?
Yes, As long as the helmet has a valid sticker and the equipment is in good working order. All equipment should fit properly.
Winter Learn to Play
Learn to Play Hockey for minors who have never played hockey before. Participants can attend Learn to Play Sessions 1 or 2 times before transitioning to House League for increased player development.
LTP to House Transition Spring
This is for players who have completed the LTP program and are ready to transition into House League and have been approved by LTP coaching staff. A Link will be provided to those who are eligible from the coaches.
Dates for LTP to House Transition are 2/25 at 740am, 2/26 at 12pm, 2/28 at 6pm, 3/4 at 740am, and 3/7 at 6pm.
Spring LTP
Learn to Play Sessions will be coached by Shannon Long, Jake Ellis, and Ryan Harden
Sessions will be held on:

No Drop IN sessions allowed
