House Hockey is for boys and girls 5-12 years old. No experience is required to participate. Learn to Skate and Learn to Play classes recommended This program is designed to build a player’s skill base and love for the game of hockey. Players will practice 3 days per week with opportunities for scrimmages, jamborees, and/or tournaments.

When
The Fall Session typically runs from Oct-Dec and the Winter Session from Jan-Mar.
Where
Practice will be at The U of I Ice arena.

Practices
6U/8U House will practice on:
- Tuesdays 6:45pm-7:45pm
- Saturdays 7:40am-8:40am
- Sundays 9:30am-10:30am
10U/12U House will practice on:
- Mondays 8pm-9pm
- Tuesdays 8pm-9pm
- Sundays 10:45am-11:45am
Fees & Extra Costs
Fees for the House Program are $420 per session.
CUYHA offers a limited number of scholarships to families that may not otherwise be able to play hockey. Please submit a scholarship form located under the Resources tab at the top.
Optional Costs:
- Rental equipment if needed ($40)
-Additional travel opportunities (jamborees/tournaments)
EQUIPMENT
Jerseys are provided by CUYHA. All other equipment is the responsibility of the player. Rental equipment is available upon request.

Can I help coach?
Parents are allowed to help coach but must be in compliance with USA Hockey regulations. Please reach out to your head coach or the coaching director for more information.
What age group does my player fall under?
Key USA Hockey Age Divisions (Example for 2025-26 Season)
- 6U/Atom: Ages 6 & Under (Born 2019 & younger)
- 8U/Mite: Ages 8 & Under (Born 2017-2018)
- 10U/Squirt: Ages 9-10 (Born 2015-2016)
- 12U/Pee Wee: Ages 11-12 (Born 2013-2014)
- 14U/Bantam: Ages 13-14 (Born 2011-2012)
- 16U/Midget: Ages 15-16 (Born 2009-2010)

6U House Winter Session 2026
6U House is for players that have completed 1-2 sessions of Learn to Play or Little Blackhawks.
Practices will be held on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and sundays.

8U House League Registration is for players who have completed 2 sessions of Learn to Play/Little Blackhawks or have been recommended to the House program by a CUYHA Coach.
Practices will be held on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and sundays.

10U/12U House Winter Session 2026
The 10U Fall House League Registration is for players who have COMPLETED 2 SESSIONS OF LEARN TO PLAY/LITTLE BLACKHAWKS OR HAVE BEEN RECOMMENDED TO THE HOUSE PROGRAM BY A CUYHA COACH.
Practices will be held on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and sundays.
First practice will be January 6th.
